    Sodexo is seeking an Environmental Services Manager to join the management team at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Open since 1891, the University of Texas Medical Branch Campus today includes a major academic health center, with schools of medicine, nursing, allied health sciences and graduate biomedical sciences as well as world class research facilities, including the Galveston National Laboratory. UTMB's patient care operations incudes the 300 bed John Sealy Hospital, 100 bed TDCJ hospital, and more than 80 campus and community-based clinics.

     

    This is a AM/Day shift position which will be responsible for out -patient and clinic operations. Bi-lingual candidates are preferred; the ability to communicate in Spanish will assist in managing this workforce.

     

    The ideal candidate for this position will have leadership experience, including supervision of direct reports in an Environmental Services position in a health care/hospital setting. Experience with in-patient services and Press Ganey and HCAPS is a plus. Candidates with strong experience with Sodexo systems such as Sodexo Shine, TRAKKAR, Labor Management are strongly preferred.

    Position Summary

    Provides management oversight for Environmental Services non-exempt level staff (client and/or Sodexo employees) in the delivery of Sodexo Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place as required to consistently meet all company, client, and regulatory requirements. Responsible for non-exempt work force planning through effective scheduling, development of daily work flow assignments, training and development, and monitoring for compliance to the plan.
    Key Duties
    -Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexho safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory maintenance.
    -Provide leadership and direction to non-exempt employees
    -Coordinate/conduct employee training
    -Administer Human Resource processes (hiring, performance reviews, constructive counseling, prepare work schedules, payroll, etc.)
    -Interact with outside vendors
    -Ensure Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place and consistently met.
    -Develop/implement action plans for improvement in compliance with Sodexo Operating Standards as identified.
    -Reviews and maintains assigned areas of the Sodexo/Client budget commitments.

    Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
