Sodexo’s Health Care Division is seeking an Environmental Services / Custodial Manager 2 at St. Joseph Hospital-Lake Saint Louis, located in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri. St. Joseph Hospital-Lake Saint Louis is part of the SSM Health system and is the leading provider of health care services for western St. Charles, Warren and Lincoln Counties. This state-designated Level 3 trauma center has 122-beds. This is a 2nd shift opportunity (2PM start time) and will require rotating weekends and holidays. 


This Custodial Manager will have oversight for up to 45 hospital employees. Some responsibilities will include, driving patient and client interaction, quality inspections, on-going training, safety, pest control, validation of work quality and the implementation of best practices. This position will also manage and coordinate floor care project work.


We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has proven leadership skills and can motivate a team to exceed expectations 
  • Has prior Custodial/Housekeeping Management experience in the health care OR hospitality industry
  • Can analyze data, present and effectively communicate to all levels within the organization related to training, leading hospital committees and change management
  • Has excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Is proficient with MS Office (Word, Power point, Excel, Outlook)
  • Prior knowledge of Sodexo ES systems and processes is a plus

Position Summary

Provides management oversight for Environmental Services non-exempt level staff (client and/or Sodexo employees) in the delivery of Sodexo Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place as required to consistently meet all company, client, and regulatory requirements. Responsible for non-exempt work force planning through effective scheduling, development of daily work flow assignments, training and development, and monitoring for compliance to the plan.

Key Duties
-Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexho safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory maintenance.

-Provide leadership and direction to non-exempt employees
-Coordinate/conduct employee training
-Administer Human Resource processes (hiring, performance reviews, constructive counseling, prepare work schedules, payroll, etc.)
-Interact with outside vendors
-Ensure Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place and consistently met.
-Develop/implement action plans for improvement in compliance with Sodexo Operating Standards as identified.
-Reviews and maintains assigned areas of the Sodexo/Client budget commitments



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
