Unit Description

Sodexo is hiring an Environmental Services / Custodial Operations Manager 2 for over a million square feet of cleanable healthcare space. This is a current Sodexo food service site. The hospital is located in the Portland Maine Area.

 

There are two positions, both day and evening, but requires the flexibility to cover other time frames and shifts as needed. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a fast pace custodial / housekeeping account with proven team building skill sets, proven proactive customer service, understanding of regulatory guidelines, maintain flexibility in work hours and be able to train/mentor/motivate hourly and management staff. Experience in Trakkar, Quality Improvement Programs,  Customer Service and  Bed Tracking are beneficial.  This manager will place a large focus on the patient experience, customer service and positively affecting patient satisfaction scores as well as patient throughput. 

 

The ideal candidate will also have strong client / employee relationship-building skills and possess the ability to manage direct reports, quickly grasp situations and logically progress through solutions, the ability to refine systems ensuring sustained effort of achieving standards, and follow through and visibility within the facility. This is ROSI position which might requires travel throughout Maine area.

Position Summary

Provides management oversight for Environmental Services exempt and non-exempt level staff (client and/or Sodexo employees) in the delivery of Sodexo Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Environmental Service programs are in place and functioning according to design to consistently meet all company, client and regulatory requirements.

Key Duties
-Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexho safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory and maintenance.

-Assumes GM responsibilities and authority in his or her absence

-Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring compliance to operating standards.

-Ensures compliance with application of all Sodexo Quality Assurance and Regulatory standards within the contractually agreed upon scope of services.

-Establish and/or adhere to defined operating standards, develops and implements quality improvements and ensures direct reports and staff adhere to the standards and expectations.

-Assists with Management of Environmental Service budget by ensuring full compliance to established operating standards, monitoring costs (e.g. labor, inventory, equipment, and material), and taking corrective action as needed.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years of work experience in Housekeeping, Environmental or Custodial Services
