Sodexo is seeking an experienced Environmental Services (Operations Manager 3) for Boston Children’s Hospital, ranked as the #1 Children's Hospital in the nation! This is a high profile, Sodexo account and a 400 bed teaching facility located in Boston, MA covering over 3.5 million cleanable square feet. 


This is a Regional Operations Support position (ROS) managing a team of 25-35 on 2nd shift (2:00pm start time).  This resource opportunity will serve as a Support Manager for various Environmental Services / Custodial accounts.  To be considered you will based out of the northeast and  will require travel and overnight stays primarily within the region (mainly based out of Boston Children's).  This manager will have expertise and working knowledge of all aspects of a Environmental Services department and bring strong customer and client relations skills. This position will last up to 1 year in length and will provide the opportunity to  and begin your career with Sodexo, which will allow for development opportunities for future permanent opportunities. 


The successful candidate must be/have:


* Customer service skills to enhance or improve the experience of the staff and patients

* Able to communicate effectively and delegate responsibility efficiently

* Able to establish, develop, and maintain relationships and client satisfaction in custodial services to ensure account retention.

* Direct daily custodial operations to ensure employees have the necessary skills, equipment, and resources to complete their assignments.

* Previous floor care experience preferred.

*The ability to be bilingual in Spanish would assist in managing this workforce.


The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years previous custodial or housekeeping experience in a hospital or healthcare environment. Proven results in positively impacting HCAHPS and patient satisfaction, superior interpersonal skills and a track record of being highly integrated with the ability to build relationships throughout the organizations they have previously worked at is a must. Must have experience with joint commission inspections and be completely familiar with all regulations governing hospitals, to include biohazard waste and pharmaceutical waste. This position will support leading a front-line hourly employees, TJC Prep, Support Audits Floor Care Projects, and will report directly to the District Manager.  Also, a proven Sodexo background with our UOS (Unit Operating Systems), TRAKKAR, ENGAGE, FOSS, CARES and demonstrated organized leadership style and drive for results.  Will need to hold all employees and management team members accountable for results on a daily basis to be successful in this role.   


You will need to have exceptional communication, unit financial, interpersonal and technical skills are necessary. This individual must have good knowledge of Sodexo EVS operating systems.  Overall, will need to motivate hourly staff and maintain cleaning quality to a very high level. Position Summary

Provides management oversight for Environmental Services exempt and non-exempt level staff (client and/or Sodexo employees) in the delivery of Sodexo Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Environmental Service programs are in place and functioning according to design to consistently meet all company, client, and regulatory requirements.


Key Duties
-Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexho safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory and maintenance.

-Assumes GM responsibilities and authority in his or her absence

-Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring compliance to operating standards.

-Ensures compliance with application of all Sodexo Quality Assurance and Regulatory standards within the contractually agreed upon scope of services.

-Establish and/or adhere to defined operating standards, develops and implements quality improvements and ensures direct reports and staff adhere to the standards and expectations.

-Assists with Management of Environmental Service budget by ensuring full compliance to established operating standards, monitoring costs (e.g. labor, inventory, equipment, and material), and taking corrective action as needed.



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree 
Basic Management Experience - 3 years
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years of work experience in Housekeeping, Environmental or Custodial Services
