Unit Description

Sodexo Universities has an opportunity for an Executive Chef 1 at LOYOLA MARYMOUNT-XAVIER HALL /JESUIT MEMBER RESIDENCE located in LOS ANGELES, CA. The Executive Chef will oversee the culinary operations for our Xavier Hall Resident Dining as well as support Catering services across campus.

 

This position will have oversight and mentor approximately 4 frontline employees. The ideal candidate must have a passion for food and innovation, help manage the day to day operations, have the ability to proactively deliver excellent service, and hands on client relations.

 

Reporting to the General Manager, the ideal candidate should have:

  • Culinary leadership experience in a  high-quality food setting.
  • High expectations for customer service and quality of food
  • A good understanding of financials as they to cost controls of food and labor
  • Solid catering background - from high end/high profile to high volume events.
  • The ability and willingness to develop and train frontline employees.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a small sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution

-Customer & Client satisfaction
-Manages food & physical safety program.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
