Unit Description

Sodexo, a leader in quality of life solutions is seeking a high performing  Executive Chef at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Bethesda Hospital is a member of the HealthEast/Fairview System and is a 142 bed Long Term Acute Care Hospital located near the State Capital.  

 

The Executive Chef will work closely with the General Manager to develop creative ideas for increasing service delivery for retail food service, patient meal service, catering and food production to ensure we deliver an outstanding customer experience for patients, visitors and staff.  Additionally, the Executive Chef will appreciate the importance of partnering with hospital leaders and employees in other departments to exceed expectations of patients and guests.

 

Technical skills include:

  • Experience with food production
  • Ability to control food and labor cost
  • Safe food handling practices, qualities, and standards (e.g. HACCP forms, temperature logs etc.)
  • Ordering and Inventory management

  • A willingness to coach and develop others
  • Attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, computer-generated menu and graphics programming.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a small sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution
Key Duties
-Executes the culinary function
-Customer & Client satisfaction
-Manages food & physical safety program.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
