Sodexo School Services seeks a dynamic, experienced Executive Chef 2 to fill a key leadership role in establishing and maintaining an exceptionally high level of culinary standards.  This school district is located in Kerrville, Texas (35-45 minutes from San Antonio) and is comprised of 9 schools - 1 High School and 1 Middle School, 1 Intermediate School, 1 Early Childhood School, 1 Detention High School, 4 Elementary Schools.  We also provide Catering for district, board, and community.


You will focus on the culinary aspects of our K-12 offering with emphasis on USDA nutrition regulations, NSLP, product quality & presentation, food cost controls, culinary staff training and driving enhancements with Farm to School initiatives and healthy dining options. 

A Culinary Degree is preferred; K-12 Schools experience is a plus!


The best qualified candidate will have extensive experience in high volume food production, strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse work groups. Seeking candidates with proven financial acumen and a working knowledge of computer programs and applications.  If you are a Culinary leader with a passion for Student Nutrition and Wellness, be a part of our success!


Seeking bilingual candidates; the ability to speak Spanish will assist in managing this workforce, but not mandatory.


**This position will enjoy a fantastic quality of life work schedule for a Chef, typically working Monday-Friday 6:30AM - 4:30PM.**

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
Key Duties
- Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
- Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
- Manages catering & retail areas.
- Customer & Client satisfaction.
- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
-  Manages food & physical safety programs.


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
