SodexoMAGIC Schools Services is seeking an experienced Executive Chef - to lead Food Operations with a

Large Urban School District located in Lansing, MI.  The Executive Chef will assist with managing 10 of the 28 schools in the district.  Acting as the "true culinarian" to make food better with the USDA funded Meal Programs such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack and summer feeding.  Catering services are offered year round.


The executive chef will coordinate all Food Production and Purchasing for Lansing School District.  You will utilize your culinary expertise to manage the high volume account.  Responsibility will include culinary operations, food & labor cost, inventory and order control. 


The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, financial acumen, a proven track record of successful account retention, and client and customer satisfaction.  Sodexo Schools or Campus experience highly desired.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
Key Duties
- Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
- Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
- Manages catering & retail areas.
- Customer & Client satisfaction.
- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
-  Manages food & physical safety programs.


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
