Sodexo Corporate Services is seeking an Executive Chef 2 to join our team at a high profile account in Norfolk VA! The current food landscape at this location consist of a corporate cafe, coffee bistro and catering operations. Total MV is 1.5 million and growing!

 

The Executive Chef 2 will be the lead culinary person and will be responsible for ensuring quality and presentation of offerings.  Other duties include: managing a team of 9-12 hourly employees, menu planning, ordering, inventory, managing the HAACP program.   The ideal Executive Chef 2 candidate must have P&L experience, be able to manage food cost and labor costs as well as understand and be able to make business decisions that allow the unit to meet goals. Have ability to forecast business and manage accordingly.  Have experience managing a team, be able to give constructive feedback.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
Key Duties
- Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
- Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
- Manages catering & retail areas.
- Customer & Client satisfaction.
- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
-  Manages food & physical safety programs.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
