Sodexo Aviation has an exciting opening for an Executive Chef at one of the busy, private airline lounges located in San Francisco OR Los Angeles International airport. The ideal candidate will have excellent culinary skills as well as the ability to train & manage kitchen staff focused on 5 Star Service.

As the Executive Chef, you will have responsibility for assisting with daily production. This is a hands-on chef role. The ideal candidate will have prior Executive Chef experience, strong eye for detail and overall excellent service standards and most important, be a true team leader. 

This position will support our operations primarily in the West Coast area but could include corporate hosted travel to other cities nationally as needs and projects arise.

 

We look forward to the successful candidate learning various operational activities, systems and processes and supporting our growth in the Aviation Lounge and Sports and Leisure segment of our business operations.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
Key Duties
- Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
- Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
- Manages catering & retail areas.
- Customer & Client satisfaction.
- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
-  Manages food & physical safety programs.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
