Sodexo Schools Services is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 2 - to lead Food Operations for the largest school district in Central Washington located in Yakima, WA.  The Executive Chef will assist with managing back of the house operations for 8 schools in the district with 16,000 students.  Successful candidate will report to the GM and will oversee up to 50 union associates.  Our Executive Chef will be the "true culinarian" ensuring better food with the USDA funded Meal Programs such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack and summer feeding.  Catering services are offered year round.


You will utilize your culinary expertise to manage the high volume account.  Responsibility will include teaching and training staff on production and proper food presentation, food & labor cost, inventory and order control.  Will assist in menuing, recipe development and testing new products. 


The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, financial acumen, a proven track record of successful account retention, and client and customer satisfaction.  Sodexo Schools or Campus experience highly desired.  Must be interested in community involvement, willingness to provide classroom presentations and enjoys being involved in culinary education with students. 


**Seeking bi-lingual candidates.  The ability to communicate in Spanish would assist in managing the workforce.**

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
Key Duties
- Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
- Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
- Manages catering & retail areas.
- Customer & Client satisfaction.
- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
-  Manages food & physical safety programs.


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
