Unit Description

Sodexo is looking for an Executive Chef 3 for Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY

 

Women and Children's Hospital provide services for 700 bed acute care facility. As Executive Chef 3, you will oversee all aspects of food for the cafe to include all catering and retail food services. The Executive Chef will also work closely with the General Manager and hourly staff. You will be managing all BOH staff, menu planning and development, food quality and making sure our patients are satisfied with their food selections.  Hours for this position are either 5:30am-3:30pm or 9am-7pm with some nights and weekends. You will be providing culinary support to two buildings on the same campus. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience with purchasing, menu planning and development of menus
  • Experience managing and developing other culinary staff
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities are key to success in this role.
  • Successful catering experience within campus dining, higher education, commissary, or large catering venue a plus.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a large sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
Key Duties
- Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
- Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
- Manages catering & retail areas.
- Customer & Client satisfaction.
- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
- Manages food & physical safety programs.
 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree 

Basic Management Experience - 3 years   

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
