The Recovery Center is a drug and alcohol treatment center that offers a residential chemical dependency counseling program, relapse prevention and specialized groups for military spouses.


The Executive Director is responsible for managing and directing the activities of client care in accordance with the established standards of care, facility policy, goals, and objectives. The position contributes to the facility's philosophy, objectives, education improvements, quality improvements, while providing executive oversight to employees at the facility.

Job Requirements

Education: Master’s degree in social work, or a related clinical field.

Experience: Three years prior experience preferred.  Experience in a leadership capacity highly desirable.

Licensure: Current licensure as LMSW or LCSW through state of Texas. 

Additional Requirements: Thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission, OSHA, State and Federal Regulatory requirements.

Standards of Performance:

  1. Ensure systems are developed to provide continuity of care and communication with staff and clients.
  2. Ensure staff members deliver care in accordance with the Standards of Practice.
  3. Implement facility policies and procedures, while acting as a resource to staff.
  4. Ensure the facility complies with regulatory bodies, to include Joint Commission, OSHA, State, and Federal requirements.
  5. Conducts and maintains a record of monthly meetings.
  6. Evaluate facility effectiveness and formulate plans for improvement.
  7. Develop staffing schedules and matrix in accordance with client needs for clinical services.
  8. Coordinate the process for determining and maintaining accurate legal processes for clients.
  9. Ensure infection control, safety, risk management, and related policies are consistently implemented in the facility.
  10. Coordinate, maintain, and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment planning.
  11. Process unusual occurrence reports, conduct investigations, and correcting actions when needed.
  12. Monitor the quality of client records and the effectiveness of the treatment planning process.
  13. Determine budgetary needs, and recommend staffing materials and resources necessary.
  14. Adhere to staffing matrix within the variability of census and acuity.
  15. Review and develop staff schedules.
  16. Recruit and interview potential staff.
  17. Ensure all facility staff are evaluated according to personnel policies.
  18. Provide leadership and direction to all facility staff in accordance with the facility’s goals and objectives.
  19. Continually evaluate the activities, morale, and interpersonal relationships of the facility staff, and promote methods of improvement, as applicable.
  20. Create new employee onboarding training and orientation.
  21. Provide education, in-services, and orientation to all facility staff.
  22. Ensure adequate communication is present across all departments.
  23. Participate and facilitate required operational meetings.
  24. Act as a behavioral model of clinical and procedural expertise to other staff members through demonstration, teaching, and mutual consultation.
  25. Adhere to facility and corporate best practice models, and implement these models as appropriate.
