Using the principles of wellness and recovery, our multidisciplinary treatment teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, registered nurses, social workers, expressive arts therapists, and other mental health specialists, provide individualized care to meet each patient’s unique needs. TheExpressive Art Therapy (EAT) department at Friends hospital is looking to hire a full-time Expressive Arts therapist. Duties will include providing individual and group psychotherapy for patients with a focus on the recovery principles. EAT staff support the multidisciplinary treatment teams with, assessment, consultation, and milieu therapy. EAT staff also participate in hospital operations via performance improvement, training, supervision of students, community relations, and the promotion of service excellence. Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in their related field (Music, Movement, Recreation) and consistent board certification or registration/licensure specific to the discipline. Prior inpatient experience is strongly preferred. Successful candidates will display excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. The position will require the availability to work flexible hours, including holiday and weekend rotation. Summary: Provides age and developmentally appropriate individual and group psychotherapy and assessment, consistent with the standards of his or her professional discipline, for patients on the inpatient and residential units. Supports the multidisciplinary treatment teams with consultation and milieu therapy. Participates in hospital operations via performance improvement, training, supervision of students, community relations, and the promotion of service excellence.
