What You'll Do
Cisco seeks a Sourcing Commodity Manager to architect and lead Cisco's next generation supply chain for Optical Sub-systems and Transceivers, globally. Join us in the development of industry leading Fiber Optics Sourcing Strategies for Wavelenght Mgmt Sub-systems and High-speed Optical Transceivers, Technology Roadmaps and in representing Global Supplier Management with the best marketing, engineering and operations teams in the world.

This is a great opportunity for someone with technical experience and business acumen to become involved with all levels of business operation-from day-to-day tactical activity to long-term strategy and planning.

Responsibilities Include:
Provides industry knowledge and understanding of Fiber Optics Wavelenght Mgmt Sub-systems and High-speed Optical Transceivers fabrication technologies, and  market trends (cost, technology, supply chain design, etc.).
Defines and sets strategic directions for next-generation Optical Components packaging technologies and Sub-system fabrication processes.
Interfaces with Business Unit partners to understand the long term requirements, mapping requirements into supply base offering, roadmap gap closure and facilitates optimal component and manufacturing flow process selection
Responsible for executing sourcing decisions, risk assessment/mitigation and alternate technical solution development.
Oversees large, complex programs consisting of multiple locations and Business Units.
Self-starter, that can independently resolve large-scale project issues and manages appropriate escalation within Cisco as necessary.

Who You Are
Bachelors of Science In Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience with a combination of engineering design and business strategy experience.
Optical networking, Product HW Design, Digital and mixed-signal IC Design, Semiconductor design, Photonic chip design, Optical packaging, and chip packaging experience is preferred.
Requires extensive business strategy and implementation knowledge.
Technical knowledge relevant to Semiconductor technologies for DataComm, Analog & Optical markets; both technical and business related problem solving skills.
Strong interpersonal communication, and relationship management skills.
Having a strong experience in Silicon and Optics tech/ecosystem is preferred.
