Description

The Finance team supports Cox Communications – together delivering over $10B of revenue - with business intelligence, analytics and reporting. As a co-op you will be trained in the fundamental areas of finance to support Cox’s strategic business objectives.Supported by senior staff members, you will work on a variety of initiatives and processes.

You will develop your data analytics, reporting acumen, financial analytics, financial modeling to support various organizations of Cox Communications.You will develop a strong professional network with the Cox family of companies, which includes Cox Communications (residential and business communications), Cox Business and Cox Media.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

§Performs financials analysis - Performs basic financial and operational analyses and supports identifying emerging trends.May include cost analysis, financial and expense performance comparisons, calculations of rate of return, cash flows, and forecasting/budgeting.Additional ad-hoc analysis based on customer need.

§Performs data analysis - Gathers and compiles data used for identifying business trends. Accesses and manipulates data from company data systems and sources.

§Performs modeling - Prepares and presents economic models and analyses.

§Performs reporting - Refreshes and modifies existing financial reports and statements.Creates visualizations of extracted data.

§Support financial and operational consultative services through collaborative partnerships - Analyzes and reviews data and supports resolving questions and/or problems.

§Monitor and optimize business processes - Provides and reviews data to ensure both compliance and effectiveness of operational and financial processes, supports identifying anomalies.

§Project Management - Completes assignments to support project objectives.

§Influence critical business decisions through analysis and modeling

§Identify and utilize opportunities to increase efficiency and improve team processes


Qualifications

 

§  Minimum:

o   1 or more years of experience required in related field (Finance, Accounting, Business, etc.).

o   Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial tools.

o   Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.

o   Update an existing PPT presentation

o   Basic Financial modeling and data analysis

o    Some understanding of functional area supporting

 

§  Preferred:

o   Business Administration / Finance concretion or majors are preferred

o   Intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
