Description:

This role will provide finance support to the Global Manufacturing (including Dairy) and Global Engineering teams to drive productivity across Sectors. The areas of Make (Manufacturing) have historically delivered 5+% productivity (of prior year operating costs) by driving continuous improvements and best practices and also leveraging technologies and transformational ideas. The Global Manufacturing and Engineering teams work closely with the Sectors to identify opportunities, align on key transformational programs, push best practices and develop productivity ideas for future pipeline. This Finance role is critical to work with these teams by driving collection and harmonization of global data, establishing consistent ways of evaluating opportunities, developing business cases and economic models for key programs and quantifying benefits for future pipeline ideas. The recent PepsiCo Strategic Plan includes the key priorities for these teams to include:

  • End-to-End Digital Value Chain (DVC) - leveraging capabilities such as networks, analytics, data warehouses, master data, integration and internet of things to deliver smart manufacturing with no/minimal human intervention, remote access for trouble shooting in a paperless environment
  • Full Factory Automation - leverage advances in robotics and digital technology to drive efficiency gains and reduce labor intensive processes
  • Co-Manufacturing Center of Excellence - support PepsiCo's growth plans by building and coordinating global network of strategic partners, identify new technology locations to support growth, innovation and trials, build capabilities across Sector teams.

In addition, these teams works closely with other Horizontal teams (Integrated Supply Chain Planning, Logistics) to define productivity pipeline, develop technology initiatives, identify and cascade best practices, support Supply Chain transformation programs, and realize global scale and leverage through common processes & technologies. This role will provide overall financial leadership and program management capabilities to meet these objectives including metrics development, global productivity assessment and Sector integration, program management for key global initiatives, cross-functional collaboration for productivity pipeline development, BIS integration for global IT systems and tools, and cost center budget management including AOP, forecasting, reporting and complex cross charges for development and ongoing support of shared projects.

  • Review beverages & snacks manufacturing technologies, processes & best practices to identify opportunities to reduce operating expenses, increase efficiencies and to deliver productivity.
  • Develop cost models, scorecards, benchmarking tools and leverage these to facilitate productivity ideation.
  • Assist teams to create project-in-a-box documentation for productivity best practices and use PSP and AOP discussion platforms to land projects in sectors and to drive rapid replication.
  • Serve as the key financial interface between Horizontal & Sector teams with regards to global manufacturing finance (P&L and balance sheet) and for productivity tracking and reporting.
  • Partner with Global Operations, Engineering, R&D, Purchasing, GBG/GSG to develop financial models to support decisions for strategic investments in manufacturing for PSP and AOP.
  • Integrate opportunities into Sector/Country strategic plans/AOPs, leveraging PowerSteering
  • Provide overall cost center management including financial project tracking, preparation of period forecasts and AOP and complex cross charges for development and ongoing support of shared projects
  • Facilitate best practice sharing through development and implementation of playbooks and other communications/presentations
  • Provide insightful analysis of business results to senior management and perform ad-hoc analyses that lead to problem solving and business improving recommendations
  • Prior experiences and knowledge in one or more key PepsiCo operating area (e.g. Manufacturing, Transportation, Warehousing, GTM, etc.) either at a Corporate or Sector/Site level
  • 10+ years of experience with Bachelors of Business Administration or similar required, MBA preferred
  • Executive verbal and written communications critical
  • Analytical and modeling skills with sound financial understanding of lead/lag indicators
  • Excel, Access, and Powerpoint knowledge a must
  • SAP experience for cost center management (AOP, Forecast, Reporting, Analysis)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven collaboration/teamwork experience - requires working with many senior executives across multiple Sectors/matrixed teams/cross-functions
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership to drive progress; organized and capable of multi-tasking
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred - Kaizen Leader or higher
  • Project management experience a plus
