As part of the Corporate Controllers Department and the CFO Organization of PFI, the Shared Services Expense Accounting & Reporting team will be responsible for the controllership activities in support of the U.S. business units including the International activities performed domestically.  The Expense Accounting & Reporting Team will collaborate with the U.S Business Finance teams as well as other corporate areas.

 

The Senior Financial Reporting Associate will be supporting the Expense Accounting & Reporting for the Insurance businesses as part of the Finance Shared Service team.  This position will have Expense Accounting & Reporting responsibilities for the Annuities & Group Insurance business units and will be located in Newark, NJ.

 

The responsibilities of this position will include:     

  • As a member on the Expense Accounting & Reporting team, continuously collaborate across the Shared Services teams and the business unit finance areas.
  • Support the development of the monthly and quarterly reporting packages to the business units, includes running reports daily during the close
  • Investigate key business drivers for the expense variances and provide insightful analytics
  • Responsible for the booking of the journal entries and Inter Profit Center Charges for the business units.
  • Support the quarterly account reconciliations
  • Assist with projects/initiatives
  • Continuously identify efficiencies and improve effectiveness by determining best practices
  • Support various ad hoc projects

 

 

 

 


  • Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Expense and financial reporting experience
  • MBA or CPA preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles preferred
  • Experience with Prudential Financial Systems preferred but not required (Smartview, OBI, Charms and WebADI)
  • Experience with providing analytics of financial results during monthly/quarterly close
  • Highly motivated with a focus on quality and timeliness
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work overtime during peak periods
