We are a Partial Hospitalization treatment center offering a comprehensive, integrated program that addresses the needs of the whole person, mind, body, and spirit. Our system of care is personalized, evidence-based, and research-proven. Patients can self-reflect and find strength for life change that characterizes Foundations Recovery Network as a Company. FRN is currently seeking a Financial Counselor, to work with our incoming patients to admit them and to discuss financial ability to make payments to the hospital.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to effectively balance the needs of the facility, while communicating with patients on a very difficult topic. The Financial Counselor  will work with other business office staff as well as our intake department to ensure expenses are covered and patient’s needs are being met. We believe in patient-centered care, which extends beyond our clinical staff, to every department in every facility. This position will be located at Foundations Recovery Networks facility, Talbott Recovery Campusr near the Atlanta Airport in Atlanta, Georgia.

Job Requirements

Position Summary

To admit patients and meet with patients to discuss financial ability to make payments to the hospital.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Meet with all new patients to establish the correct insurance information has been received, to discuss financial ability to pay co-pays and deductibles and complete admission package.

Follow up with patient to ensure payments are current and timely.

Enter all patient financial arrangements into computer system.

Procure required deposits for all self-pay admissions.

Monitor credit balances for patients.Prepare refund requests and supporting documentation and forward to Chief Financial Officer for review.

Enter notes in AS400/MS4 of all communications with clients pertaining to collection attempts.

Review each discharged account to determine estimated self-pay liability.

Enter notes in MIDAS/AS400 systems regarding all financial counselling attempts and outcomes.

Investigate potential problem accounts, including possible termination/exhaustion ofbenefits due to but not limited to the following situations: termination of employment, non-payment of COBRA, termination of student status, exhaustion of calendar year or lifetime benefits, etc.

Run Equifax for each client who is unable to pay their balance in full by discharge, or who has not made a satisfactory payment arrangement with the facility.

Identify prompt pay adjustments, administrative adjustments, and balance transfers and forward to Business Office Manager for review/write off.

Accurately identify the correct patient account for the posting of payments.

Print and mail all account information to appropriate bad debt agency.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to inspire client confidence in the Talbott Recovery Staff and the Talbott Recovery Model of Treatment.
Ability to consistently demonstrate through conduct and communications the stability required to effectively assist patients and their family members through the Talbott Recovery Model of Treatment.

Must have high level of interpersonal skills.Position continually requires demonstrated poise, professionalism, tact and diplomacy.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Ability to pay continual attention to detail.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

Exercise good judgment, apply common sense and successfully handle ambiguity.

Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources and all other contacts.

Must have strong knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing and spreadsheets (MS Word, Excel)
