Valley Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Financial Counselor


Valley Hospital is built on three core principles, outstanding care, compassionate people and unparalleled service. We are a private 122 bed psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health care and chemical dependency counseling services.

The Financial Counselor will be responsible for reviewing the admissions from the previous day(s) to verify the accuracy of the insurance information obtained and entered by the Intake or assigned department.

Job Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in managed care,

  • Medicare and other government benefits and ability to determine deductible and coinsurance.

  • Must also have a minimum of 6 month experience in finances and collecting patients financial liability up front,

  • Experience in admission processes and collections procedures, and a working knowledge of managed care

  • Experience in interpretation of insurance coverage plans, co-payments and deductible schedules

  • A working knowledge of computers and business software programs (Excel) preferred.

  • May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours
