Our team of professionals includes board-certified child/adolescent and adult psychiatrists, master’s-level clinical therapists, nurses and mental health associates who are here to help people reconnect with their families, friends and employers so that they may lead productive lives. Tucked within the wooded hills of Central Arkansas, The BridgeWay is just moments away from the major highways that unite Arkansans throughout the state. Founded in 1983 and accredited by The Joint Commission, our quiet campus has retained much of the cozy charm and character that existed then. The BridgeWay currently has a financial counselor/collector position available.

The Financial Counselor is responsible for verification of insurance eligibility and benefits as well as meeting with patients and their responsible parties to arrange for payment of applicable patient portions prior to admission and/or discharge. Must be able to clearly communicate benefit information/obligations with patients and obtain a deposit. The Financial Counselor will serve as a liaison between the family and assigned parties, the business office, and care coordination staff. This position is under the supervision of the Business Office Manager and is an integral part of the business office team.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Total education, vocational training and experience: High School diploma or GED. One to three years of relevant experience required. Experience preferably will include working with billing healthcare entities such as Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial and Private Pay.

1. Knowledge of computer software and accuracy in data entry.
2. Ability to dealing with large amounts of data quickly and efficiently.
3. Check and balance of accurate charge entry.
4. Knowledge of computer software and insurance and billing practices to correctly translate verbal descriptions of diagnoses and procedures into numerical codes.
5. Excellent telephone skills.
6. Working knowledge of insurance terms, and reimbursement procedures, medical terminology, and hospital services.
7. Ability to interact in a positive manner and to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, supervisor and other hospital employees in person and over the telephone.
8. Skill sets to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
9. Ability to adapt to changes in how information is processed.
10. Ability to work in behavioral health environment and observe the standards of care needed for patients
11. Provide assistance in the area of credit, collection, and patient billing operations to assure that hospital policy and procedures are maintained at all times
