Pfizer's Global Financial Solutions (GFS) Shared Services is a well-established operation with beginnings in Memphis, Tenn., in 1997. The organization expanded to Europe in 2003, Asia in 2007, Latin America in 2013, and Eastern Europe in 2014. GFS Shared Services has a workforce of more than 1200 Pfizer colleagues, in addition to a successful partnership with a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partner, Genpact, in three locations globally.

The GFS Shared Services Center (SSC) for the Latin America Region (LATAM) is a high performing team responsible for the timely delivery of standardized financial processes on behalf of Biopharmaceuticals and PGS Finance and their business partners for the Emerging Markets. The group performs certain r\\Record-to-Report, Invoice-to-Pay, Travel & Entertainment, Credit-to-Cash, Treasury, Mark-up, and other related activities from regionally centralized locations in San Jose, Costa Rica.

This position will supervise the Fixed Assets Accounting Team. Responsibilities include supervising colleagues performing Capital Finance activities for various divisions and/or markets, as well as legal entity based fixed assets reporting, maintenance and support. In addition, this position will be responsible for serving as a single point of contact for all fixed assets related questions for supported legal entities; reviewing and approving required journal entries and reporting (balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly webforms); reviewing Analysis Book schedules, monthly depreciation analysis, and monthly audits of Genpact transactions. This role will also manage colleagues who serve as a service delivery liaison between Fixed Assets and divisions including RDM, PGS, GO/BT, Americas Tax Center, Canada, and Controllers/Consolidations and providing audit support and leading related projects.Leadership and Management of the LATAM Fixed Assets group responsible for operational performance and providing strategic guidance and direction to the function

+ Lead the team responsible for the below activities:

+ Ensure accounting transactions are in compliance with Pfizer accounting policy, US GAAP and local GAAP accounting

+ Maintain elements of domestic and/or international general ledgers including the preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations

+ Prepare financial and accounting analysis completely and accurately

+ Maintain complete and accurate tasks lists and status of open items

+ Maintain complete and accurate standard operating procedures and SOX related internal control documentation

+ Research technical and operational accounting guidance and determine relevant application

+ Provide the information team needs to complete job duties and make accurate decisions; is timely with information

+ Clearly and consistently establish priorities for team and manage workload, deliverables and competing priorities

+ Consistently identify and remediate irregularities, discrepancies and risks prior to financial impacts

+ Manage and lead related audit activities, including the timely and accurate delivery of audit requests and serving as primary point of contact

+ Consistently identify process improvement opportunities and timely implements solutions

+ Build team and develop people by: providing challenging tasks and assignments, holding frequent development discussions, being aware of each person's career goals, constructing and executing development plans

+ Lead regional projects and other initiatives in addition to existing role and responsibility

+ Own the month end close process and related financial reporting activities

+ Demonstrate ability to effectively deal with conflict and confrontation (e.g. managerial courage)

+ Recognized as Pfizer subject matter expert/process owner for key accounting activities

+ Willingness to accept occasional travel for meetings and projects

+ Engage directly with customers and business partners on complex activities and deliverables; maintain effective relationships with business partners

+ Supervise and manage team of 15-25 colleagues
