Job #69702 - Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager (I) for Asbury Place Maryville, Tennessee. This is a 300 Resident Continuous Care Retirement Community; Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Skilled Care.  We are located at the foot of the Smoky Mountains and within minutes of a major airport, 30 minutes from Knoxville TN and 2 hours from Nashville TN.


Your project management skills will come in handy in the New Year when our Health Center and 3 new buildings will be adopting the Household Service Model that will focus intently on resident driven meal choices. 


In this role you manage front of the house operations and our 5 Star Dining Program, train and develop 16 Homemakers within the Households and interact daily with residents and clients to provide exceptional customer service and program enhancements. You will also assist with employee scheduling and work closely with the dining services team and other department heads; coordinating the delivery and service of daily meals and assisting with the set up and service of catered events.


 Your Skills Check List for this position:

Certified Dietary Manager, CDM or enroll and complete12 to 18 months

Front of the house upscale dining and wait staff training experience

Skills to develop a team of 16 Homemakers; 8 Campus Households

Ability to train & develop employees who deliver amazing dining experiences

Computer skills Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook

Servsafe Certified and knowledge of HACCP monitors

A flexible leadership style for a multigenerational workplace environment

Experience; retirement community / country club / fine dining is ideal!


Typical schedule; 8am-4:30pm with rotating weekends & holidays

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.
Key Duties
- Establishes a safe work environment

- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships,  to ensure account retention

- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and  regulatory agencies



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
