Unit Description

Sodexo Senior Living is seeking a Food Operations Manager 1 for a Regional Operations Support  role.  This position will be primarily providing food operational support at ManorCare, Greentree, a 130 bed skilled and rehab, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and will support other ManorCare accounts within the Pittsburgh region as needed.  The Food Operations Manager will be the lead manager at the unit.  This is a temporary position expected to last six months up to one year with potential growth opportunity within the organization.  Typical schedule will be a 5-day work week with some weekends and holidays required.  The candidate must reside in the Pittsburgh region of Pennsylvania.

 

Responsibilities will include: assisting with unit financials, inventory/purchasing, training, HR functions, direct resident and client interaction and supervision of up to 30 hourly associates.

 

The successful candidate will have at least 2-3 years prior food management experience ideally in a healthcare environment, a strong working knowledge of food operating standards and HACCP guidelines, computer literacy as well as excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills.

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.
Key Duties
- Establishes a safe work environment

- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships,  to ensure account retention

- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and  regulatory agencies
 

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
