Sodexo University Dining Segment is seeking an experienced and dynamic Food Service Operations Manager 2/Quad Director to oversee the largest residential dining facility on campus, serving 18,500 meals weekly.  Indian Quad boasts approximately $6.5M in annual volume and the team consists of the Operations Manager, Executive Chef, Food Service Manager, 5 Supervisors and 126 staff (both f/t and p/t students).  This manager will provide the overall management support to the campus food service operations within this busy dining hall and will work collaboratively with the Sodexo management team on campus to provide culinary innovation and set high standards to be implemented and maintained in order to ensure great customer experiences!


The ideal candidate will have:


  • Large campus/university residential dining food service operations experience;
  • Experience managing labor and food costs, and maintaining employee engagement;
  • Excellent fiscal management experience to write budgets, control expenditures and meet financial targets;
  • Strong supervisory/leadership and human resources experience to provide direction and vision for a diverse team of managers, supervisors and hourly employees (union experience is helpful);
  • Experience establishing operational standards, and working with staff to adhere to standards;
  • Experience analyzing the business, determining new products and services, and working through design and successful implementation.

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.
Key Duties
- Establishes a safe work environment

- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships,  to ensure account retention

- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and  regulatory agencies



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
