Unit Description

Lead, grow and inspire!   Sodexo's School Services Division is seeking a high energy Food Operations Manager at Eugene School District, serving over 14,000 students in Eugene,OR.  This Food Operations Manager will oversee safety, training, auditing, program compliance and NSLP regulations for the 85 union district school employees throughout 30 locations.  This position will report directly to the General Manager and will oversee the program standards and school nutrition operations.  Day to day, this role will be responsible for insuring a high level of standards, compliance with the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs district wide and directly overseeing cafeteria operations.

 

Our ideal candidate will:   

  • Be a self-starter with stellar communication skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Be experienced in managing food service in an education environment - Large volume  K - 12 school experience.
  • Well versed with NSLP standards and regulations.
  •  Have experience overseeing multiple locations, and ability to travel between schools on a daily basis - as needed.
  •  Have success in working independently and be detail oriented and organized.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of people, team focused.

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.
Key Duties
- Establishes a safe work environment

- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships,  to ensure account retention

- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and  regulatory agencies
 

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
