Job #68408 – Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager for Huntersville Oaks in North Carolina.  Affiliated with Carolina Healthcare System, Huntersville Oaks will be your home base & you will travel to 3 other facilities in drivable distance to assist with Geri Menu / Cerner, Menu / Meal Planning, Recipe standards, staff training. The largest location has 165 Residents and the smallest has 120 in Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Services.


In this role you train & develop 40 employees, oversee the Geri Menu / Cerner software programs, assist the management teams with; HACCP monitors, sanitation, food and physical safety of kitchen and service areas, food and labor cost controls, the food retail area and catered events, Patient & Resident Satisfaction. 


Your Skills Check List for this position:

Formal management training, a Servsafe Certificate

Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or enrolled in a program is ideal

OR a Nutrition / Dietetic Degree is also ideal

HR skills; train and supervise 40 employees

Working knowledge of HACCP protocols for regulatory compliance

Working knowledge of Geri Menu, FMS, Cerner (Hospital system)

Basic food production experience

Meal rounds for Patient & Resident satisfaction

Program enhancements based on Press Ganey outcomes

Ability to work in food retail, vending operations, catering

Background in Healthcare or Senior Living is ideal!


Schedule; 7am-5pm with rotating weekends & holidays

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.
Key Duties
- Establishes a safe work environment

- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships,  to ensure account retention

- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and  regulatory agencies



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
