Seeking client focused Operations Manager 3 for long tenured university account in beautiful sunny Tampa, Florida!


Sodexo universities segment is seeking a strong Food Operations Manager 3 to be part of the innovative team at The University of Tampa in Tampa, FL. As our Operations Manager, you will partner with the RDM and clients to continue building our successful Resident Dining and Catering operation.  Reporting to the RDM, position will oversee up to 150 Sodexo associates and 2 salaried managers. The keys to success in this position is to have solid client relations and student engagement skills.  Our preferred candidate will have a solid understanding of catering trends and the ability to think out of the box to stay competitive in the market.


The ideal candidates has the following:

  • experience in high volume Dining Service operations,
  • experience leading and managing a large Catering team with proven exposure to large volume, innovative VIP events;
  • strong financial acumen with the ability to drive results; has an understanding of food and labor cost controls;
  • solid in talent management and training with the ability to develop and mentor high performing associates and create strong teams;
  • experience with managing multiple food service units;
  • strong with interpersonal relations with customer, client and students;
  • solid understanding of HACCP and other food safety programs. 



Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.
Key Duties
- Establishes a safe work environment

- Assumes General Manager’s (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence

- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships,  to ensure account retention

- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and  regulatory agencies



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree 

Basic Management Experience - 3 years   

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
