Are you an experienced Chef or Kitchen Manager ready to take your career to the next level?  This Production Manager is a great career opportunity to work with Sodexo and College leadership as the campus undertakes the transformation and expansion of the Resident Life program.


Sodexo is seeking an experienced Production Manager 2 to be the culinary leader for Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, ID - another longstanding Sodexo University account in the West.  LCSC  has a student population of 4200, with 400 plus on meal plans. The unit is a hybrid Resident Dining for breakfast and dinner and Retail for lunch. We also operate two small coffee shops, Concessions and Catering.


The Production Manager will manage all production, ordering/inventory for the dining operations and Catering, will implement production processes, properly manage food and labor costs and have a thorough working understanding of HACCP, all to exceed customer and client expectations


Best qualified candidate possesses:

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, Customer Engaged, hands on management style.
  • The ability to build teamwork is a must – visible, out on the floor FOH and BOH.
  • Previous or current Sodexo kitchen management experience or in other high-volume environments: college, hospital or corporate business segments, banquet/hotel.
  • Strong "culinary chops" and ability to ensure high volume, high quality food production, presentation. – including Catering.
  • solid understanding of computerized production systems for food management - ordering/inventory, recipe development, etc, Labor Management,as well as HAACP food and physical safety.
  • The ability to provide strong kitchen management; hire, train and mentor a diverse kitchen staff.

Position Summary

Responsible for inventory management and procurement of food and supplies at an account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company.  Manages food production through kitchen staff in a medium facility. Contributes to account revenue and operating profit contribution through cost containment and safety.
Key Duties
- Utilizes Sodexo resources, recipes, systems and programs to direct daily operations including; food production, inventory, product deliveries, invoices, and procurement operations.

- Ensures employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources to perform their job, and meet goals, cost controls and deadlines as assigned.

- Establishes and maintains a safe work environment including both food and physical safety in order to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards

- Complies with budget requirements by controlling costs (i.e. labor, inventory, equipment, materials) and making adjustments when necessary

- Supervises employees by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
