Job #67917 - Sodexo is seeking a Food Production Manager (II) for Tower One/Tower East in New Haven, CT. This is a unique 365 Resident apartments and assisted living community located in the heart of one of New England's historic cities, on the southern edge of downtown New Haven, CT.  Dining services include; a Cafe that serves breakfast and lunch, Resident Dining Room, a Country Store, vending services and catering.  Our three-course meals are a time of companionship and a celebration of life; prepared by chefs and served by an attentive and caring wait staff.


In this role, you oversee Kosher meal production and service, Sodexo and Client systems and standards, HACCP monitors and sanitation, inventory and on-ordering, training of staff, and you function in the absence of the General Manager.


Your Skills Check List for this position;

Hands on; front and back of the house food service experience

Ability to train & develop employees; 10 per shift

Menu planning for Senior Dining

Servsafe Certified and knowledge of HACCP monitors

Working knowledge of food and physical safety programs

Passion for team building and customer service

Experience with inventory and on-line ordering

Fine Dining, Catering, and Retail Experience

Computer skills; Food & Labor Management Systems

Experience; Kosher Kitchen / Dining is a plus!


The schedule will vary with some weekends and holidays.

Position Summary

Responsible for inventory management and procurement of food and supplies at an account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company.  Manages food production through kitchen staff in a medium facility. Contributes to account revenue and operating profit contribution through cost containment and safety.
Key Duties
- Utilizes Sodexo resources, recipes, systems and programs to direct daily operations including; food production, inventory, product deliveries, invoices, and procurement operations.

- Ensures employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources to perform their job, and meet goals, cost controls and deadlines as assigned.

- Establishes and maintains a safe work environment including both food and physical safety in order to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards

- Complies with budget requirements by controlling costs (i.e. labor, inventory, equipment, materials) and making adjustments when necessary

- Supervises employees by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
