    We have an exciting opportunity for a Food Production Manager 2 at Twentynine Palms Marine Base.  Located in the beautiful Mohave desert, next to Joshua Tree National Park.

     

    The United Sates Marines have high level food service expectations and this account will require the Sodexo staff to be top of their profession. In Government Services contract compliance is critical with safety and customer service a high priority as extensive audits and surveys are conducted at each unit on weekly basis. Sodexo offers innovative and healthy concepts while keeping to a strict profit and loss financial statement. 

     

    The Food Production Manager 2 will report to the General Manager and will help support the Sodexo team to meet all the needs of the USMC and the Sodexo standards.

     

    Sodexo provides best in class services for the USMC at this outstanding account in the 29 Palms District for Government Services.

     

    Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead the culinary team and will plan, organize and manage the daily food production. The Production Manager will be responsible for managing the culinary operations.

     

    We are looking for candidates who will:

    • Manage food production that includes production planning and controls, to include oversight of ordering and inventory
    • Ensure Sodexo culinary standards that includes recipe compliance and high quality food service
    • Develop and maintain excellent client and customer relationships
    • Provide excellent customer service
    • Create and manage a positive work environment for Sodexo, client and sub-contracted employees
    • Ensure contract compliance

    The ideal candidate:

    • Demonstrates attention to high quality food service, including taste, presentation and meeting customer expectations
    • Has a work history demonstrating excellent leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively
    • Has a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance
    • Has the ability to manage multiple priorities, with the skills to prioritize tasks and the flexibility to take on additional responsibilities
    • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in using Outlook for a pattern of management

    This position requires a unique culinary passion for fostering relationships with Sodexo staff and USMC while providing a compassionate and unforgettable dining experience

    Position Summary

    Responsible for inventory management and procurement of food and supplies at an account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company.  Manages food production through kitchen staff in a medium facility. Contributes to account revenue and operating profit contribution through cost containment and safety.
    Key Duties
    - Utilizes Sodexo resources, recipes, systems and programs to direct daily operations including; food production, inventory, product deliveries, invoices, and procurement operations.

    - Ensures employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources to perform their job, and meet goals, cost controls and deadlines as assigned.

    - Establishes and maintains a safe work environment including both food and physical safety in order to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards

    - Complies with budget requirements by controlling costs (i.e. labor, inventory, equipment, materials) and making adjustments when necessary

    - Supervises employees by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards
     

     

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
    Basic Management Experience - 1 year
