Job Description

At Bluebird Foods, part of global giant Pepsico, we are committed to seeking self-motivated, high performing, results driven people, who wish to make a worthwhile contribution to our ongoing success. Developing our internal talent is part and parcel of our journey and due to a couple of recent secondments to aid individual career growth, we are now looking to appoint a Food Safety Coordinator on an approximate 7 month fixed term contract.

The purpose of this role is to coordinate our food safety systems to ensure all products produced meet the companys stringent safety standards, thus ensuring 100% satisfaction for our discerning customers.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Managing both the regulatory and PepsiCo mandated food safety programmes;
  • Overseeing the cleaning verification and maintaining master sanitisation schedules;
  • Running the Food Safety Committee;
  • Supporting pest control activities;
  • Build motivation and awareness on the site about food safety standards;
  • Managing the HACCP plans for site;
  • Delivering food safety training to site personnel to ensure their awareness of our food safety standards;
  • Investigating Red Light complaints.
  • Ensuring internal auditors are trained coupled with coordinating food safety auditing for both internal and external food safety inspections.


The key skills and experience we are looking for are:

  • NZCS Diploma/Degree in Food Science or B. Tech (Food);
  • 2 - 4 years experience in a technical role within the food industry;
  • Strong bias toward processes, materials and packaging systems;
  • Good Interpersonal Skills;
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills;
  • Computer literate minimum intermediary level;
  • Innovator;
  • Self-motivated;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Sound planning and organising;
  • Proven problem solving;
  • Action orientated with a drive for results.
