Role overview:

 

The Food Service Manager is responsible for directing, planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the Nutrition and Food Service Department to ensure that the nutritional needs of each resident are met, including special ethno-cultural requirements, within established budget and existing legislative parameters. There is daily interaction with other department heads and department employees, residents, families and contractors. Food Service Manager will participate in and conduct a variety of managerial activities and duties to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Home and to achieve and maintain a level of high quality resident care.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 5 years  food service management experience in a fast paced food service environment, healthcare environment in long term care setting is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing EVS/Housekeeping function would be an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Food Safety Standards
  • Experience with food cost management is essential  
  • Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively with clients, customers of client and support staff
  • Requires strong leadership, organizational and planning skills
  • Position requires the ability to work with confidential employee, client and Aramark information 
  • Working knowledge of employment and human rights legislation
  • Willingness to complete criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
