The Food Service Worker is responsible for the preparation and serving of patient, staff and visitor meals and snacks according to dietary guidelines; responsible for cleanliness of work area according to dietary procedures; assists with dishwashing; and provides support to all areas of food services.  The Food Service Worker must be able to use kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers and dishwashers; should have knowledge of the essential hygiene factors involved in food preparation and knowledge of cleaning products and how to use them.

Job Requirements

Education/Training:  High School diploma or GED preferred.

Experience: Previous experience working in a food service industry, preferably in a hospital or other institutional setting. In the absence of above qualifications/experience, must demonstrate the ability to learn necessary skills through the facility orientation program.
