As part of the Corporate Controllers Department and the CFO Organization of PFI, the Finance Shared Services organization will be responsible for the controllership activities in support of the U.S. business units including the International activities performed domestically.  The Financial Reporting team will support GAAP and Statutory reporting across multiple legal entities, including subsidiary financial statements, disclosures, analysis, various regulatory filing submissions, and internal and external audit support.  The team will partner with Business Unit Finance, Actuarial and other corporate areas.
 
The Financial Reporting Specialist position will support the Financial Reporting team with responsibility for various subsidiary financial statements, disclosures and regulatory filings related to the Asset Management business.  The position is located in Newark.
 
The responsibilities of this position will include:
 
  • Preparation of various subsidiary financial statements and disclosures, and legal entity financial statement analysis related to the Asset Management business
  • Preparation and analysis of reporting data in support of disclosures for inclusion in PFI 10-K/Q and subsidiary financial statements
  • Partner with Business Unit Finance areas, Corporate and other internal business partners on accounting and reporting matters
  • Preparation of various surveys and regulatory filing submissions for various federal agencies/departments
  • Support quarterly/annual audits by Internal Auditors, as well as, Independent External Auditors
  • Continuously identify efficiencies and improve effectiveness
  • Maintain internal controls over financial reporting
  • Support special projects, initiatives and ad-hoc report and analysis requests
 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably Accounting or Finance
  • CPA, Master degree or MBA a plus
  • 3 - 5 years of financial reporting and analysis experience 
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities under challenging time frames
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong collaborative and partnering skills
  • Highly motivated, proactive, detail oriented
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Investment accounting and financial reporting experience a plus
  • Experience with Prudential Financial systems a plus (Oracle, Essbase, GAAP Supplementals & Financial Statements applications)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work overtime during peak periods
