Hickory Trail Hospital provides inpatient and day treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults. Our professional staff individualizes care to uniquely fit the intensity and severity of each client's case and their family's needs. Because crisis occurs at all times of the day and night, our services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Hickory Trail Hospital currently has a FT LVN position available. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following: The LVN provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Hickory trail Hospital. The LVN prescribes coordinates and delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The LVN is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit.


Job Requirements:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including male and female children adolescents and adults as well as dually diagnosed adults.

Education Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Experience One year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing preferred. Licensure/Certification Licensure and registration by the Texas Board of Nursing as a LVN or multi-state license as approved by NCSBN. Knowledge Must possess knowledge of medication management, milieu tech, general and psychiatric nursing processes therapeutic relationships and processes age specific growth and development limit setting crisis and behavior management. CPI/CPR/Verbal D-escalation training will be required before working with patients.
