Sodexo is seeking a General Manager 2, Food for ManorCare Carlisle located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania


This is a 145 resident skilled nursing and rehab facility located in Carlisle, nearby Harrisburg.  This General Manager will teach and develop food production employees in culinary skills, train and develop dietary staff in exceptional customer services.  This is a hands-on position moving from back of the house to front of the house and administrative financial duties, P&L.  Position manages; the daily operations of the kitchen, manage approximately 20 employees, the Client and Sodexo financial budgets, the production processes, some catered events, automated; food, labor, and financial systems, the HACCP process, and customer service enhancements. 


Ideal Candidate Skills and Certification:


Contract food service management experience / ideally in a healthcare or Senior living environment

Hands on skills with food production and standard recipes

Experience managing food cost and coordinating invoicing

Skills to train & develop food production & dining room staff

Computer skills; food, labor, financial management systems

Experience enhancing customer service programs

Servsafe Certified

CDM, Certified Dietary Manager or equivalent is needed;

Success is measured by exceeding Resident & Client expectations!


Typical schedule; 7:00 am - 5:00 pm M-F with some weekends and holidays.

Position Summary

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years
