 Sodexo is seeking a General Manager 3 for Food Services at East Cooper Medical Center.  East Cooper Medical Center is a 130 bed facility with a large cafeteria that can seat over 100 customers in beautiful Mount Pleasant, SC, a large suburban town in Charleston County. In Mount Pleasant, you will be located on the beautiful SC coast minutes from boating, kayaking and beaches and within a few miles is the historic Charleston, SC, home to true southern charm.  East Cooper Medical Center was originally established in 1986 to care for the residents East of the Cooper. While that remains their primary mission, their expanded scope of services, their commitment to quality & safety, and their outstanding team of caregivers have attracted patients from throughout the Lowcountry and beyond. The Food Service General Manager will have direct client, and executive level communication and day to day operational responsibility for this 130 bed medical and surgical hospital with a P&L contract.


General Manager Responsibilities include:

  • Management of 20 employees and around $1.3 million in managed volume on an annual basis
  • Drives success of the retail food service through analysis of sales volumes and trends, food costs, labor costs, food quality, creativity and level of service.
  • Implementing Sodexo systems and programs, and oversees training of staff.  
  • Continuously evaluating service to ensure patient and client satisfaction.
  • Providing catering with a focus on excellent attention to detail, follow through and outstanding customer service.
  • Drives employee engagement and patient satisfaction through strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstrating a detailed understanding of account financial operations at all times.
  • Integrating fully within our client's organization and is a trusted advisor with a customer service focus.
  • Works to achieve company and client financial targets and goals 
  • Accurate and timely Sodexo and client reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
  • Meeting (or exceeding) Sodexo standards of operations.
  • Creating a positive environment and successfully motivates and manages team.
  • Having strong, effective communication skills with all levels of the organizations and the patients.
  • Being able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize goals, creates plans of action and very thorough follow thru.

Position Summary

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account
Provides local leadership and strategic direction while developing team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day to day operations.
