Unit Description

Sodexo is currently seeking a Food Service General Manager 3 to lead our team at Varian Medical Systems in Palo Alto, California. The unit is a high-profile showcase, VIP account for Corporate Services and is branded as an Artisan account.

The General Manager has full accountability for the operational and financial performance. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of managing unit finances and providing quality services. 

The General Manager must be able to articulate how s/he was successful in driving satisfaction outcomes.

  • Position will partner as a leader with the client supporting their mission of a superior service culture
  • Creative, innovative thinker and ability to bring new ideas to the client
  • Polished presenter with mastery of presentation tools and confidence in relaying ideas to C-Suite


We are seeking candidates who will actively engage our customers to strategically take our programs to the next level.


Duties will include the following: 


  • Constantly improve food service operations in order to drive client and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure the execution of product and service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery
  • Promote and support workplace diversity initiatives as well as create a positive work environment
  • Develop strategic plans for account retention and growth



Position Summary

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account
Provides local leadership and strategic direction while developing team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day to day operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 3 years
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years
