Sodexo is seeking a creative and innovative Food General Manager 6 to lead our dining team of 28 manager and over 350 Sodexo-paid, frontline (hourly) employees at Georgia Institute of Technology located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, Georgia.  This position will actively engage our customers to strategically take our programs to the next level. The unit is a high-volume, high-energy, fast-paced to include resident, retail (national brands and Sodexo and local in-house brands) and catering. We are looking for an individual with a real passion for delivering superb guest service, food quality, safety, and providing a positive and professional work environment. 


The General Manager will has full accountability for the operational and financial performance and must have strong leadership and proven management skills as this position requires a take charge, hands-on individual that is easily able to lead, develop, train and transition employees.  The position will report directly to the District Manager. 


The ideal candidate will successfully:

  • Manage the budget by increasing revenue and controlling costs, reviewing financial statements and tracking operating expenses
  • Constantly improve food service operations to drive client and customer satisfaction
  • Manage through mangers to achieve Sodexo and client objectives
  • Exhibit knowledge and passion for sustainable dining and food practices
  • Demonstrate polished presentation skills and organizational skills (ability to prioritize and maintain core responsibilities/accountability), attention to detail and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Understand, interpret and explain contract language;
  • Ensure the execution of product and service quality by maintaining highest level of delivery
  • Promote and support workplace diversity initiatives as well as create a positive work environment
  • Develop strategic plans for account retention and growth
  • Build strong relations with multiple clients & stakeholders
  • Be adept with inventory, ordering, safety, staffing, schedule, payroll & food production exp., knowledgeable with food and labor cost
  • Hire, train and lead a team of 300+ employees
  • Demonstrate excellence in the areas of Client Relations and management of multiple food outlets including franchised concepts
  • Utilize computer programs, scheduling software, financial & payroll systems, Kronos, E-Vision & Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrate customer service and the ability to go above and beyond for the guest and client
  • Create budgets and running the business accordingly.

Position Summary

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to an account, may have multiple clients and/or satellite locations.
Provides local leadership and strategic direction while developing team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day to day operations.
