Pfizer's Global Financial Solutions (GFS) Shared Services is a well-established operation with beginnings in Memphis, Tenn., in 1997. The organization expanded to Europe in 2003, Asia in 2007, Latin America in 2013, and Eastern Europe in 2014. GFS Shared Services has a workforce of more than 900 Pfizer colleagues, in addition to a successful partnership with a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partner, Genpact, in three locations globally.

The GFS Shared Services center located in Costa Rica will support all Latin America MAPP transactions (My Anti-Corruption Policies and Procedures) associated to FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act). The lead position will be responsible for ensuring the MAPP transaction team is performing responsibilities including: Oversight of the MAPP operations for Latin America, Management of the colleagues supporting this work effort and ensuring compliance controls are meeting policy standards and are properly reported. This role will be responsible to ensure that all transactions are managed to the highest compliance standards and they are delivered in a timely and accurate manner. Activities from regionally centralized locations in San Jose, Costa Rica.

This position will be based in Costa Rica and will manage 28+ colleagues managing the MAPP transactions. The role will report to the GFS site lead in Costa Rica. This position will be responsible for the service levels, the compliance controls, and the operations process for Latin America.


+ Work with cross-functional control groups (i.e. business, commercial finance, corporate compliance, legal, GCO, GRCC, and Corporate Audit) to ensure the operating model is delivering a compliant process

+ Provide leadership to team leaders, process lead, and analysts

+ Assist in design and implementation activities regarding ways to streamline and standardize operations, including operational metrics

+ Act as a final reviewer of MAPP data/submissions to ensure accuracy

+ Report on all system metrics for business and other enabling functions

+ Ensure MAPP transactions are in compliance with MAPP policy

+ Maintain complete and accurate standard operating procedures and SOX related internal control documentation

+ Lead, coach, develop and establish goals for direct reports so they can proactively carry out their role to the highest possible standard

+ Responsible for maintenance of and adherence to Internal Controls

+ Responsible for hiring process of MAPP team

+ In charge of performance and development of MAPP team colleagues

+ Ensure that the appropriate governance mechanisms are in place to ensure that detailed communications to the different functional groups are happening as appropriate

+ Bachelor Degree or equivalent is required

+ 10 years of experience managing a team of colleagues, preferably in a shared service with strong compliance control

+ Management and supervisory experience required

+ Management of multiple client stakeholders

+ Previous experience with pharmaceutical companies is preferred


+ Proficiency in PC skills (MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint) required

+ SAP / JDE experience preferred

+ Good organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple priorities

+ Proficient written and verbal skills to enable effective communication with all levels of management

+ Ability to analytically review and challenge statutory financial statements to ensure completeness, accuracy, adherence to accounting standards, etc.
