Job Details

Leads a team of technical experts to develop and execute Pfizer's long term Environmental and Process Safety strategies, enabling regulatory compliant, safe and sustainable operations.

**Primary Responsibilities**

+ Develops, maintains and executes enterprise environmental strategy.

+ Manages industry recognized Process Safety experts to develop, maintain and execute enterprise process safety strategy.

+ Develops enterprise processes to enhance environmental and process safety compliance by; developing and maintaining governance frameworks; assessing facility program effectiveness and sharing lessons learned from adverse events; and, revises/creates programs to address highly complex issues;

+ Provide highly technical expertise, either directly or through team members to enable development of environmental and process safety risk reduction programs;

+ Leads Operational Risk Evaluations for environmental and process safety risks; and, builds/implements mitigation strategies and drives identified actions to improve control robustness;

+ Establishes effective processes to identify; evaluate and address emerging environmental and process safety risks.

+ Establishes, leads and participates in forums that support the organization in achieving robust compliance.

+ Maintains and manages talent base development processes and succession planning for subject matter experts across the network, in light of future needs.

+ Partners with Sustainability Leaders to maintain comprehensive enterprise program.

+ Represent Pfizer on industry, trade and regulator interactions.

**Work Experience/Technical Requirements**

+ Minimum of 10 year experience as an environmental professional with a sustained track record in improving compliance performance, developing strategy and delivery.

+ Broad based experience, building and implementing effective environmental, health, safety and process safety management programs within pharmaceutical / biopharmaceutical / biotech manufacturing and R&D operations at business unit level.

+ Outstanding environmental practitioner with excellent technical and regulatory knowledge, who can effectively operate in a matrix organization to progress programs.

+ Proven track record of developing and implementing environmental programs across global business unit lines, aligned with risk profiles to drive performance improvement.

+ Broad industry and operational knowledge.

+ Proven experience effectively communicating with regulatory authorities.

+ Ability to assess and communicate complex situations and appropriate solutions at an enterprise level.

+ Proven change agent (proposing and leading others through change) with ability to lead leaders

**Qualifications and Personal Skills**

+ Undergraduate Degree in life sciences e.g. Environmental Sciences/Engineering or related field.

+ Postgraduate professional qualifications in relevant discipline preferred.

+ Active membership in at least one relevant professional body.

+ Innovative thinker who consistently offers solutions to keep programs 'fresh'.

+ Effective oral, written and interpersonal communications skills with ability to influence.

+ Able to work across different businesses, countries and cultures.

+ Adjusts to changing business environment/needs without losing focus on long term strategies.
