Gobal Marketing Innovation, Director

The Innovation function within Global Beverages is tasked with delivering over $1Bn in incremental growth to 2020. This is currently being led through a 'lead market' approach where global platforms are delivered through a lead market and then rapidly lifted & adapted for other markets as quickly as possible. As such GBG is structured by region with each Directors accountable for Innovation in their allotted geographic region(s).

The team is divided into sub-teams. The role of Innovation Director is to lead their sub team(s) with full accountability for Regional projects globally and assessment of other key projects with respect to their region(s). They will also drive Regional Innovation teams with their local initiatives and manage programs through the stage gate process. Through Innovation projects in their region(s) they're responsible for identifying, scoping, sizing and assisting in the commercialization of high volume growth opportunities.

Global Innovation Platforms : Lead global cross-functional team(s) to develop scalable opportunities.
Global Lift & Launch: Assess in-market products and innovation output from other markets for launch.
Develop Regional Innovation strategy: Partner closely with Regional Innovation and GBG VP Innovation to define Innovation strategies for chosen geographic region(s).
Manage Innovation Budget: Manage project budget for allocated region(s) in both Innovation and Design + other macro projects

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of marketing/innovation experience with a focus on innovation
  • Practical Innovation experience - Must be able to demonstrate good working knowledge of Innovation process along with track record of impactful market execution
  • Critical thinking - Ability to balance left/right brain thinking to think conceptually & analytically (e.g., understand testing results)
  • Project management - Experience navigating a cross-functional organization, developing execution plans, and managing innovation process works from early R&D to market hand-off
  • Dealing with Ambiguity - due to both inherent ambiguity in innovation processes and still in development structure and process related to the GBG group
  • Interpersonal/Political Savvy - will need to quickly develop relationships and trust with a wide variety of cross functional and global colleagues (often at higher levels in the organization)
  • Global experience
  • Communication : Ability to conduct analysis, synthesize key learning and build communication
