The Global Media Manager is a dynamic position that is perfect for someone who wants to play an integral part in an evolution at Pfizer that sees both the traditional media and social media teams working more closely than ever before. Strong written and oral communication skills, great project management skills, and a passion for learning the latest in traditional and social media trends are all a must. The role is responsible for managing day-to-day proactive and reactive media relations and developing content for audiences across all of Pfizer's corporate platforms. This position will support specific Global business units and teams and will work across multiple media channels to develop and execute end-to-end programs based on understanding of business needs and priorities.







The position is based at Pfizer global headquarters in New York City.







Responsibilities







+ Position Pfizer in top-tier and trade media as a leading biopharmaceutical company;



+ Manage and enhance Pfizer's corporate reputation and image in the press;



+ Manage organizational interactions with external media;



+ Develop and implement external content across Pfizer's corporate platforms;



+ Contribute to the content calendar across Corporate Affairs;



+ Act as a subject matter expert in their assigned topic categories in order to determine the most effective stories for each channel;



+ Work with assigned divisions to develop specific content plans to address key issues







Qualifications







+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Communications, Journalism or related area is minimally required.



+ Minimum of 5 years of client-side and/or agency-side communications experience in a variety of disciplines including media relations and digital communications/social media content creation.



+ Candidates must be able to demonstrate success in a fast-paced, high-exposure and highly collaborative environment.



+ Discipline in time management and precision in the execution of duties - from media relations to content creation to delivery - are especially important, given the largely deadline-driven, highly visible nature of the work.



+ Day-to-day direction, by the nature of the business, must be self-initiated.



+ Excellent presentation skills and persuasiveness are mandatory.



+ The candidate must be able to continuously develop innovative and creative strategies using new and evolving channels.



+ Experience in creating engaging content across multiple media channels is essential.



+ Experience in the biopharma/biotech industries a plus.
