Description:

Senior Director, Global Sweetener COE, is responsible for leading the development and implementation of progressive sourcing strategies that deliver economic and cost efficiencies, supply assurance and quality for the procurement of global PepsiCo sweeteners needs.The selected candidate will also be responsible for the management and professional development of 5 direct reports.

The selected candidate:

  • Reports solid line to Vice President, Commodities
  • Will have matrix management responsibilities, partnering and influencing across multiple levels and organizations, to drive the Sweetener COE agenda


Principal Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for sugar, corn sweeteners and high intensity sweeteners that provide a competitive market advantage, in support of PepsiCo global food and beverage business
  • Lead development and execution of price risk management strategies to deliver predictable commodity costs
  • Provide commodity price guidance and market intelligence with ability to succinctly communicate market dynamics to senior management
  • Develop and implement strategies to deliver against PepsiCo Performance with Purpose 2025 Goals
  • Lead and drive results across a diverse and globally located team of 18 executives and salaried personnel
  • Develop and foster strategic supplier relationships to unlock new value drivers to ensure sustained productivity & supply and expand innovation pipeline
  • Negotiate supplier agreements that align with the interests of Company and also comply with Company policies
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders in R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain to understand their needs & business plans. Develop complementary sourcing strategies and value Engineering productivity initiatives to drive proprietary advantage for PepsiCo


Qualifications:

  • Ten (10) years plus work experience in direct procurement and supply chain management in global food, beverage or CPG industries
  • Undergraduate degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance and/or Business required; a MS or MBA is preferred
  • Direct management and expertise in major agricultural commodity markets (traded and non-traded) e.g. sugar, oils, grains, coffee
  • Demonstrated record of accomplishment in ingredient commercialization, negotiating complex contracts and supplier relationship management
  • Strong alignment skills with the ability to communicate vision and gain alignment with senior management both internally and externally
  • Deep understanding of food and beverage industry, constantly scans horizon for new/changing technologies, supplier and competition strategies, new products and consumer trends with ability to make connections and drive insights
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, creates flexible strategies and adapts quickly to changing business environment
