Description:

The Global Procurement Sr. Manager for Rigid Packaging leads the front line interface with our key Suppliers and Business Unit partners to ensure lowest delivered cost, highest quality rigid packaging supply to the PepsiCo system through supply chain management techniques and corresponding financial analysis. This position will have lead accountability to execute category strategies and productivity initiatives as well as to commercialize Pepsi's rigid packaging innovation and productivity initiatives at the supplier and bottler/PepsiCo plant level. Key accountabilities include the following:

Strategy development:

  • Develop and ensure execution of Can-conversion strategy for ESSA and AMENA in alignment with global COE
  • Build and implement strategic supplier relationships that deliver cost reduction, supply assurance, quality improvement and innovation

Review and evaluate current business practices and identify areas of opportunity for improvement including:

  • Standardization and driving efficiency (i.e. network optimization project - work with cross-functional teams to understand packaging requirements and to identify/develop processes to improve costs) across the Cans category
  • Procurement process development to commercialization process
  • Focus on total cost reduction and supply optimization. (i.e. develop and manage Supplier Performance)
  • Work with key stakeholders and Legal teams to establish supplier agreements (i.e. payment terms, rebates, discounts ,etc)
  • Develop long term internal customer relationships and improve their operational alignment with Procurement.
  • Seek/Develop/Source alternative solutions and processes to support the innovation agenda

Research & Risk Management:

  • Build category expertise to be able to provide market intelligence to business
  • Ensure monthly review with Sectors of package volume forecasts and submit updated forecast to COE
  • Understand the macro factors which affect and shape the category.
  • Conduct market research to benchmark current market position/advantage vs. competitors.


Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations or Finance; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of procurement experience in consumer products packaging (i.e. analytics, develop buying strategies and tactical implementation) with potential to continue to advance within the organization. Basic knowledge of Can and/or Sheet making preferred.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain mechanics, forecasting and costing
  • Good understanding of financial analysis and cost modeling
  • Strong organizational, execution and negotiating skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a matrixed open environment; comfortable and effective in influencing at all levels; ability to tactfully give/receive constructive feedback
  • Strong communication skills both written and spoken.
  • Capability to build a strong network and relationships with cross functional teams (Supply Chain, Plant Operations, Sector Finance, R&D, Marketing, Purchasing) within all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to grasp operations economics & cost drivers
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
