Description:

This role will report to the Vice President of US State & Local Government Affairs

Accountabilities:

  • Lead in the creation of materials (fact sheets, brochures, web content) to be used by State & Local Govt Affairs representatives to share with policymakers and their staff and community leaders on PepsiCo actions on nutrition, environment and other matters (education, employee diversity, etc.).
  • Collaborate with PepsiCo Global Communications, Office of Sustainability, Foundation, R&D and Operations to secure information on PepsiCo's leading actions and translate them into information for policymakers.
  • Develop and help maintain a database of PepsiCo infrastructure in the US, which can be leveraged with policymakers, including physical locations, number of employees, community contributions, etc.
  • Help ensure design of materials is user-friendly and easily understandable, as well as easy to use by PepsiCo lobbying team.
  • Working with PPGA colleagues and field business leaders, ensure work product is appropriately informative, understandable, and aligned with broader business initiatives.
  • Explore new ways for team to better engage with policymakers through such tools events, plant tours, newsletters, trade associations, social media.
  • Utilize knowledge of public policy and government affairs to understand developing issues and trends on which PepsiCo should be engaging with policymakers.
  • Support PepsiCo activity with local coalitions on engagement initiatives
  • Support State & Local Govt Affairs representatives, ensuring coordination on issues, sharing of information and coordinated engagement with policymakers and community leaders.



Key Skills/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, public policy, communications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a applicable professional capacity
  • Exceptional written communications skills a must; design experience a plus
  • Must have a passion and interest in public policy and government affairs and an understanding of corporations
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • General knowledge of global public policy issues, trends, and business challenges
  • Ability to translate public policy matters into internal business issues
  • Critical attention to detail
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of an organization and build internal network
  • 25% travel
