Description:

  • Oversee relations with Federal government agencies, working with US Federal PPGA team to develop and strengthen long-term relations with Federal agencies and other external stakeholders
  • Support Sr. Director of Federal Relations in developing and executing US Federal advocacy agenda for PepsiCo;
  • Support PPGA team responsible for developing briefing materials for senior PepsiCo executives that participate in engagement with Federal stakeholders;
  • Work with trade associations and consultants teams to provide support, direction and targeted resources on external engagement;
  • Coordinate with global PPGA teams on strategic priorities that have a US Federal dimension;
  • Represent PepsiCo and its priorities before Federal agencies, trade associations and other external groups.
  • Coordinate with PPGA team responsible for executing US congressional advocacy agenda.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field; Master's preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, corporate public affairs, or non-governmental organizations (NGOs); lobbying experience preferred
  • Strategic thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills - developing briefing papers, presentations and memos on substantive issues
  • Ability to receive information from multiple sources, to prepare distilled analysis, and make recommendations for field business leaders.
  • Have practical experience on a range of policy/regulatory issues and experience understanding how to incorporate those risks into strategic planning.
  • Ability to work within coalition groups and trade associations, assuring PEP issues are prioritized.
  • Ability to manage external consultants
  • Quick ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently, keeping manager informed of developments.
  • Highly proactive, entrepreneurial and able to navigate ambiguity and complexity while developing successful solutions
  • Organized and self-motivated, strong project management skills in order to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously from beginning to end within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively, and engage comfortably with senior executives; highly skilled in the use of persuasion and influence
  • High-level creative thinker with the confidence to use it; proactively seeks out newer, better ways to get things done, using existing resources and creating efficiencies
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint; proficiency a plus
