Main Purpose:

The Global Public Policy Development (PPD) team within Government Affairs (GA) facilitates PepsiCo's public policy agenda and drives the development of strong policy positions that address key issues facing the business. PPD delivers competitive strength to the company through coordination and alignment among business units and functions, keeps an inventory of critical global regulatory data, and keeps current PEP best practice in response to those regulatory issues.

This position is primarily responsible for supporting the execution of the Public Policy Development strategy.

Will have dual reporting into the Senior Director, Global Public Policy Implementation and Sector PPGA leads will have experience working across functions in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and must have experience working with senior-level corporate executives.

Identify public policy threats to the business and contribute to the development of strategies to mitigate them.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead / support markets with public policy implementation and flag process issues impacted by unexpected political dynamics or unintended consequences of policy actions.
  • To provide support to the Sector and regional PPGA team on specific issues and projects, e.g. IKN market visits, increasingly frequent regulatory updates requested by corporate, emerging or acute policy issues.
  • Coordinate and support data modeling process working with Government Affairs, Global Strategies, finance teams and PPD Global Data Analysis team
  • Impact of tax and regulation on the business
  • Quantify impact of commitments on the business
  • Identify, qualify and if possible quantify political risks
  • Create and maintain economic data impact materials

  • Functional support including:
  • Internal briefings and Public Policy distribution
  • Maintain critical communication ties between sector and global policy stakeholders
  • Regionalize global advocacy papers (tailor for local needs)
  • Support Chairman and business lead's briefing
  • Coordinate information gathering from SMEs at corporate and market level
  • Tie public policy statements to overarching positioning statements (PwP 2.0)


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Master of Business Administration Degree preferred)
  • Minimum 8-10 years of working experience coming from the commercial sector.
  • Previous public policy experience not necessarily required however, should have a strategic eye and strong interest in these types of issues and content
  • 6-7 year experience in project management (communications or business, coming from Marketing, Sales, Operations and/or Finance)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel
  • Background in government affairs, regulatory/government, Intergovernmental Organizations (IO), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) or economics is a plus
  • Experience working with cross functional teams
  • Highly proactive and able to navigate ambiguity and complexity while developing successful solutions
  • Well-organized with strong attention to detail while working in a dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions, including comfort with supporting and interacting with senior executives
  • Strong customer focus
  • Demonstrate ability to leverage existing resources and build efficiencies and effective solutions into PepsiCo processes
  • High-level creative thinking and the confidence to use it
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and self-motivated. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet demands of a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
