Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
Senior Business Analysts are responsible for leader subsets of larger projects and initiatives and individual processes or projects that bring value to The Home Depot. They must possess strength in written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deliver and communicate project goals effectively. Additionally, they must possess a high level of analytical ability to distinguish multiple components of a problem and develop conclusions using quantitative skills. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to leading teams on projects, effective communication to teams and other leaders, reviewing and understanding sales/financial data,
identifying trends in business and the retail industry. A successful Senior Business Analyst will possess and demonstrate strong leadership skills, effective communication style and analytical abilities.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

50%-Lead project teams and other associates
20%-Perform data gathering tasks, synthesis develop solutions, project/strategy planning and data utilization
10%-Produce documents for teams and leadership to review and utilize
10%-Build skills and knowledge including self-development, team knowledge and customer (internal) knowledge
10%-Deliver presentations to teams and executive leaders

NATURE AND SCOPE

This position reports to HDE Senior Manager, Services Projects
This position has no Direct Reports

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

1 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Additional Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
-Strong Operations and/or field knowledge
-Strong Communication Skills, verbal and written

 3+ years experience with analytical and data mining tools such as Tableau. Retail and/or Call Center knowledge.

  • 2-4 years work experience in data mining, statistical analysis, auditing, and/or forecasting.
  • Experience building reports/analyses with analytical tools (e.g. Excel, JMP, SAS, Mathematica, SPSS, Tableau, etc.)
  • Strong relational database skills (Access, SQL Server, Postgres, etc.) and SQL skills (writing complex queries to pull large sets of data, performing analysis using SQL queries)
  • Ability to process large amounts of data through high throughput computing tools (HTCondor, Hadoop, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge in statistical analysis and model building using software (R, SAS, etc.)
  • Experience in data visualization and building dashboards (Tableau, R, Excel, etc.)
  • Understanding of Object Oriented Programming Language (C++, Java, Python, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, Macros, VBA, etc.) a must


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
-5 years of work experience is preferred
-Experience leading high performing teams
-Consulting management and/or project management
-Strong quantitative skills such as statistics and data analysis
-Problem Solving
-Strong Operations, Retail and/or field knowledge
-Systems/IT Solution development
